BALINESE TEAK & RECYCLED GLASS SCULPTURES: SEE HOW THEY'RE MADE

We are SO in love with the organic artistry of these magical vases!  Take a peek behind-the-scenes in Bali, Indonesia to see how they're created:

The wood is teak root that may be over 100 years old, depending on which one you get. Way back in the day, huge teak trees were felled in the ancient hardwood forests of Java and other parts of Southeast Asia. With no use for these difficult-to-remove roots at the time, they were left in the ground. Completely resistant to rot even though they'd been just sitting in the dirt for ages, local farmers now dig them up before that ground can be used for planting, and this beautiful organic wood is repurposed into beautiful furniture and sculptures like these vases.

The bowls are made from recycled glass, melted down and then hand blown right onto the chosen piece of wood so that whatever container is created can nestle perfectly on it. Each of these pieces is 100% unique, and you can only get them in Mexicali Blues stores! Stop by and see us today, and check out these stunning natural wonders for yourself.
