The 164-Year Turn: Neptune in Aries and the Path to Inspired Vision

March 30 – April 5, 2025

New directions are appearing upon new horizons no matter where we stand. Neptune is shifting into Aries for the first time in 164 years, and there is a lot to bring out of the mist we have been trying to see our way through for the past 13 years. Addictions? Depression? Overwhelm? Chaos and confusion? It is time to stare these down and make way for the amplification of what might inspire us and ignite fascinating new territories of our imaginations. Emotional ups and downs are also bound to be a bit more accentuated this week, so erring on the side of detachment from luring drama traps is highly advised. And there is a foul weather warning for Friday, so find your kind mind to help ease the angst that is bound to try to slither inside it. Through this gauntlet lies the jewels of our dreams, which can be seen slightly shimmering on those new horizons. May we make our way there unscathed and ever hopeful.

Moon conjunct Chiron in Aries

Moon in Aries square Mars in Cancer

*Neptune ingresses into Tropical Aries*

Moon in Taurus square Pluto in Aquarius

Today marks the monumental pivoting point of Neptune ingressing Tropical Aries. Neptune has been in its domicile of Pisces for 13 years, showing us all just how unmoored the world could become. And now we could be facing a lot of that music we were running and hiding from. It has certainly felt like we are living on a precipice, especially in the past few months with Neptune at 29°. What is to become of this ingress is a bit challenging to decipher, but if the last time Neptune ingressed Aries is any indication of what CAN happen, we should probably buckle up for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. The last time Neptune moved into Aries was the day before the Confederate troops fired upon Fort Sumter and the Civil War began. Of course, we cannot just presume another big war is about to begin, but we should take heed of the powerful influence such a shift can create in the force.

To further agitate what might otherwise be a lazy delightful Sunday, we are needing to face that music and some pretty important trials going on in our life. While fleeting, Moon and Mars are in each other’s signs and creating a tense square aspect, which is only magnifying the conceivable harshness of our emotional state. This intensity can most definitely precipitate bouts of anger and tantrums we would all rather avoid at all costs. But something is brewing deeper down in the bowels of our frustrations. You could say the combined effects of yesterday’s New Moon Eclipse in Aries, Neptune’s ingress into Aries, and these other tense squares are exacerbating every wound we are trying to heal. We should all do everything we can to breathe, relax, exercise, dance, be creative, and even unleash a bit of our wild side so we can release any and every shred of agitation that is begging to come out. Stay calm out there, everyone!

Moon in Taurus

Phew! Hopefully we all survived yesterday’s scalding cauldron of agitation stew! It sure is nice to have a relatively uneventful astrological forecast to offer you today. While Neptune is freshly dipping its ethereal rings into the fires of Aries and remembering what that is all about again, Moon is grounding and lounging in the emotional securities and comforts of Taurus. We are stabilizing ourselves and reassessing our resources, our property, and all that we have to sustain an even keel through the conceivable chaos unfolding. Making the most of such a hopefully calm day can involve cooking, eating, napping, building something, and indulging all our senses in all the beautiful things around us. Love will help guide us through all that is going on. We just have to remember to open our hearts to allow it all to emanate as majestically as possible.

Moon in Taurus sextile Mars in Cancer

Moon in Taurus sextile Saturn in Pisces

Moon conjunct Uranus in Taurus

Moon in Taurus sextile Venus and Mercury in Pisces

Moon in Gemini sextile Neptune in Aries

Moon in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius

Coming out of yesterday’s hopefully relative calm into today’s plethora of workable, tension-releasing sextiles and trines should bode well for a day of practical restructuring activities. Though we are still sludging through some muddy flats of stubborn resistance, there are glimmers of shimmering hope peeking out from behind the woeful clouds. These are beckoning us forward—despite hesitations for whatever reasons—and awakening us more and more to electrifying new pathways through the jungle of our chaos. Stimulating and sparkling ideas may be filtering in through our sieve of conditioning, hoping we can break free from the etched molds of the past to welcome them with love and grace. Relationships may be getting a cold splash of valuable reconciliations that can help advance the progress of their destiny. We might want to prepare for a heap of deep thoughts to exchange this evening.

Moon conjunct Jupiter in Gemini

Much like Monday, today is another reprieve from an active celestial day before. We should try to spend as much time considering the wide array of avenues that inspire us and feed our hungry souls with expansive revelations. Talking to those who encourage us and lift us up toward our hopes and dreams helps us believe in ourselves and our road ahead. In this way, we might do well to listen more than talk, especially if someone else seems to be in need of this kind of encouragement and motivation. These are extremely challenging and depressing times, so however we can join together with our most loving friends and family, the better off we will be to handle whatever the labyrinth surprises us with. Finding out what we love most is how we begin our most fulfilling journey.

Moon in Gemini sextile Chiron in Aries

Moon in Gemini square Saturn, Venus, and Mercury in Pisces

Moon in Cancer square Neptune in Aries

Our hop-scotching mind may get the better of us if we were hoping to sail through the rest of our days with that much giddiness and mirth. Old Reality strikes again today, recalibrating and reminding us of all the rules, laws, boundaries, and reasoning that goes into the most outstanding of lives. To carry out the hard work with the least amount of dismay or dread requires we accept the inevitability of sacrifice and suffering for the sake of accomplishing what we set out to do. And hopefully we find much greater joy in that hard work once we come to terms with how necessary it is for our well-being. Getting bogged down by emotional dramas might emerge into the evening, so we should be on the lookout for emotional tension in our general vicinity as the night unfolds. Staying calm and breathing through the weights bearing down upon us will help ease the crease upon our brows and smile as we sleep.

Saturn in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus

Mars in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus

Mars in Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces

Today’s uncanny triangular activation of these three planets is sure to unfold without any lack of agitation, frustration, or unfiltered madness. Finding some way to divert our emotional attachments from whatever may catch due to the sparks flying everywhere will require quite a resolute approach and commitment. It might feel like there are giant webs everywhere we turn just waiting to trap us and tangle us into dire cocoons of emotional turmoil. If we dress ourselves in the morning with the proper armor, we can shield ourselves throughout the day as we vigilantly navigate our way through it. I am not too often warning of such potentially dreadful experiences, and of course I hope we all have a much better day than these transits portend, but preparing us with honest insight is my job, so tread lightly, kindly, and compassionately today, and remember, empathy is one of our greatest assets.

Moon in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus

Moon in Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces

Moon conjunct Mars in Cancer

Moon in Cancer trine Venus and Mercury in Pisces

Emotionally processing our life is one of the most nebulous, intangible, and exhausting experiences we go through, and it does not seem to end until we reach the end of the line. The losses, struggles, traumas, suffering, and inconsolable grief we go through is enough to want to turn and laugh our past away. But we should know by now that doing so freezes us and sinks us into that quicksand we were told to be so afraid of as children. If we make enough time to be alone with our thoughts and feelings, we begin to discover how we truly feel about the people, places, and experiences we have been through. This then helps us see more clearly the road we have been down and how everything led up to this day. If we do this enough, we start to better understand what we want our road ahead to look like and how we can shape the curves and hills and flora and fauna our imagination wants to see.

Not every week is for the weary, and this week may prove that in spades. But we have to hold on to the hope that might be lurking around any corner we round, because losing sight of hope is not the dream we wish to come true. Much can be said about Neptune’s fresh foray into Aries, both good and dire, but one thing that is certainly going to slowly unravel is the dominating overwhelm and confusion that has enveloped us over the past 13 years. This is not to say we will suddenly see clearly now that the rain is gone, but the mystifying perplexities that have riveted and confounded us should gradually become more clear and lucid to us. Again, we need to cherish the loving relationships we have and make more time to be present within them. We are going to need each other more and more as the weeks and months and years go by.
