New Moon in Pisces: A Cosmic Shift in Action and Reflection

February 23 – March 1, 2025

This week begins with Mars stationing direct and ends with Venus stationing retrograde. We are feeling motivated to finally move forward with our dreams and new directions, but our values related to those directions will come into sharper focus as we make our way to the end of the week and across the month of March and into April. Thursday’s New Moon in Pisces is asking us to unveil healthy new ways to combat the overwhelm and suffering we endure in life. It is also hoping we begin to engage in practices that inspire us and lead us into new territories of excitement and motivation for the sake of healing, serenity, and emotional satisfaction. Let’s destress our lives by altering our methods of escaping!

The seeming stagnancy in our drive to move forward with the plans and visions we’ve been incredibly anxious to see through into manifestation is finally dissipating. Though the wheels aren’t fully engaged and cooking along at a preferable clip just yet, we have finally been cleared to disengage reverse and give it some gas. Along the way over the next few days, and especially weeks, we should expect our excitement to begin to build and coalesce with our most genuine motivations. If we have been holding off on making important changes, moves, or decisions in our life, we are now free to do so and be relatively unencumbered by Mars’ recent retrograde influences.

Today also offers a rather unencumbered means of sharing our thoughts and feelings with others, perhaps about whatever we will be implementing now that Mars is direct. It is possible a little too much can be said, or maybe we take conversations a little too far down the wrong side of the road, but communicating and setting our thoughts free are certainly in the cards today. We should be a little more careful with how we address sensitive relationship issues, though. If our rules, boundaries, or dominant authority tendencies overpower situations, some feisty words or actions could unfold rather unpleasantly. Let’s do our best to stick to what is newly exciting us.

We have work to do, and today provides the space, time, and hopefully motivation to get sincerely immersed in the goals at hand. It is a day for sculpting the finer curves of our plans, ironing out the wrinkles of problems we have faced trying to get to where we want to be, and hopefully landing someplace that feels further down the road than where we start our day. Any shred of hard work will pay off in droves, so the more effort we can put into our productivity, the more satisfying and rewarding it all will be. Some old wounds might try to block our progress, but if we steady our course and hold the line, we should still end up with a spring in our step at the end of the day.

The advancement of our progress depends on our hard work, but it also depends on our visionary efforts. Are we inspired to raise the bar of our work to new levels and see what might become of those ideals? Can we set aside some time today to strictly focus on what we are doing, where we are going, and how we might turn this whole otherwise monotonous endeavor into something more colorful, exciting, and uniquely amazing? How can we transform the work we do into more effective and meaningful work that inspires and touches the lives of more people for more powerful reasons? We could call it Elevation Day.

Hopefully we elevated at least our senses yesterday into some version of inspired consciousness. Maybe we even applied that elevation to our workflow. These kinds of processes are meant to uplift us and all those around us who are in some way influenced by the work we do. We can ask ourselves how seamlessly we can apply this kind of inspiration to our personal values and dignity. Do they seamlessly integrate or are there snags that keep us from synchronizing these facets of our lives smoothly? Additionally, the kind of healing we may need to implement might require a few steps into territories we have feared to tread, but this is often par for the course of action we must endure to arrive someplace gloriously new and beautiful. Preparing new intentions for tomorrow’s New Moon is in order.

What is beginning? What has ended? What new cycle is underway? Do we feel deeply enmeshed in a practice that uplifts our spirit? Have we been brainstorming ways to cleanse the shabbier shadows of our lives? Again, we are blessed with an ongoing opportunity to make things better all the time, even if we struggle to follow through on a regular basis. The cryptic push and pull of life seems to place the baton in our hand one moment and rip it out the next. This kind of chaos that seems out of our control often dictates our days, weeks, and years, but it does not have to dictate how we work with it. When we refine everything we experience into their subtle essences, we are left with the distillation of life’s magic. It is this magic that is our lifeforce and source of inspiration to inspire others. The magic is always flowing forth from its source, no matter how elusive it may be.

There are limitations to our escapisms. These are the kinds of boundaries that should be explored today. We might be motivated more than usual to seek alternatives to those escape routines. Perhaps simply exploring these kinds of avenues of thought can teach us how to design a better methodology for handling the difficulties of life. And difficulties are surely taking their toll on many of us these days. Life is stressful and very demanding of our time and energy, which makes it very inviting to ease our pain and suffering through unhealthy means. But the high road calls us to enact new methods of relaxation and serenity to counter the woes of existence. What might we be hearing on the wind to calm our nerves and ease our souls?

Because we are so often pulled in a multitude of directions for different reasons, we can lose sight of our path and purpose. The vague demands nudging us hither and yon confuses us, frustrates us, and leaves us wishing for a simpler life with less worry and more lucidity. So how do we keep it together enough to stick to a worthy heading and navigate our way there unswayed by all the distractions along the way? The ideal is to have a motivating inspiration that feeds our soul and leads us to that state of being we envision as beautiful and joyful. These sacred hopes and visions are calling out to us today that we might heed their values and inspiration enough to abide by a unique voyage toward their manifestation. Those values will begin to play a critical role in the shape of our destiny over the next six weeks. May we all find our course and stay on that course the best we can!

Letting go of things can be very easy, but we should not let go of everything just because it is difficult or stresses us out too much. We have to learn how to manage our stress and overwhelm with healthy new means of escaping. Maybe we are used to escaping into places of regret and discord, or into places of manipulation and subtle decay. If we spend enough time pondering the limitations of escaping, we might find new keys to new doors that lead us into new worlds and lives we were too blind to see existed at all. Our means of survival often requires space to breathe, reassess, and recommit, and these are the very moments to cherish for the sake of our song.
